  1. What a waste of tax payers money. This reminds of the tactics used during the miners’ strike. I am saddened, and worse, at such a high level of intimidation used by the Police and CFC’s attitude over this. Does Lawell realise what will happen if this goes on? Is he really expecting Celtic fans not to rally round and try to counteract such needless bullying? Celtic will end up in a major boycott situation. The club will lose money, the twelfth man at Parkhead and whose face isn’t going to fit next? I think he is scared that the GB are threat to his complete control.

    1. The video without the sound is pointless. Correctly or otherwise it suggests the poster doesn’t want us to hear what was being said on the video and just look at the police’s (non) action. No reasonable person would try to justify harassment, but if it was me I’d keep on moving past them and get to my seat. If you then set off flares, insist on standing when you know that you’ve repeatedly been asked to sit and produce the occasional banner that reflects badly on the support and the club, then expect the gloves to come off. Keep up the boycott and the police win. It’s kinda daft really!

  3. So whats with the horses? New catering courtesy of Strathclydes cop shop? It was like a standoff and well done for not rising to the bait.

Could someone please explain what was going on. Maybe I am a bit stupid or blind but the first part was just like a crowd hold up. I am sure there was more to it. As for the police presence at the front of Parkhead, I have seen such a show of force at many matches in the past though not for such a small crowd. However, I have to confess not to understand the small band of supporters gathered there. Who were they and why were they there. I am not being funny here and I am sure that once informed I will better understand the inappropriate police presence and the utterly exaggerated supervision in both instances. Thanks for any assistance.

    1. Hi PB, The video was released by someone who sits in area 111 (Green Brigade area). I contacted the person to ask if it was possible to release a version of the video without the music however they said that would be up to the Group.

As for the people at the front of the stadium the vast majority is normally seated in area 111 and had walked out to protest against Police harassment and fans being banned from the ground without any prior notice from the club, courts or Police.

As for the amount of Police outside I agree that it would amount to the normal presence of Police at a game. However that amount are usually there to Police around 10,000+ people not a group of around 100 carrying out a peaceful protest.

      1. Thanks JasCam. I take it the first part was to show the ridiculous chaos caused by police harassment and meddling. I have to say, I would have thought the club would want to investigate the situation given the emphasis placed on the safety of its supporters in its statement today.

Had the police been specifically ordered for the group outside or was this a knee jerk response to the actions of the fans leaving 111? The usual lets flood the area with coppers then blame the massive crowds for the mess saying they were outnumbered. In this case I make it -10,000 to +1.
